Welcome!
At Culture-Wise, we strongly feel that family harmony is at the core of every successful international move.
Therefore, we've made it our mission to help global families by providing them with creative solutions to
manage their adjustment process.
Our featured work is a book of candid conversations from Mexican wives who are battling depression and other adjustment
issues while living in Michigan on international assignment. This theory-based book gives Mexican wives
a sense of community, and provides them with a good idea of the challenges they will face.
The book is available in Spanish
or English through Cafepress.com. To purchase in bulk, please contact us

"During the (intercultural) seminar, they told us that Americans do not like to greet, hug, or kiss; that they are very cold people and they like their space. Now, I have met many people at
church and soccer games who greet me with a hug. It gives me a weird feeling because I was trained to think that Americans don't do that. So, the course worked for me in some aspects, but it gave me some ideas that weren't true."

"The youngest (daughter) was very stressed before we moved and she developed a nervous tick in her arm. Her arm involuntary moved up and down, and we took her to the doctor in Mexico. The doctor said that she was very stressed and nervous. He recommended that we talk to her a lot, and explain to her that we are going to a nice place where she would see new things, like snow."

"I am depressed sometimes. My husband does what he can to help cheer me up. The first time I noticed myself getting depressed, I took a shower, got dressed, and went for a
drive. Every time I catch myself like that, I go out. It is very easy to get depressed here, and it is hard to see yourself like that. I decided not to take medication because I don't want to get hooked on it. I have gained a lot of weight, but I don't like going to the gym alone, so I work out with the television and I bought a treadmill."
